Yes, it is necessary to make a reservation in advance for the Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon Tour. One day before the balloon tour, the full name and Turkish ID information of our domestic guests and passport information of our foreign guests are sent to the civil aviation authority. Afterwards, flight permits and insurances are arranged on behalf of the guests who will participate in the flight. Additionally, since your insurance will be arranged in advance and your spots in the basket will be reserved, it is required to make full payment for the balloon tour by 4:00 PM, at the latest, one day before the tour. Öz Palmira Tourism and Travel Agency has the right to cancel the guest’s balloon tour reservation due to unpaid payments until 4:00 PM. We only accept cash payments for tour expenses, unfortunately, credit card payments are not accepted.

You need to make the payment for the Cappadocia Hot Air Balloon Tour by bank transfer/EFT or by visiting our agency in cash at least 1 day before the tour. In the Cappadocia region, it is a requirement to collect the payment in advance only for balloon tours. This is because it is mandatory to arrange insurance on your behalf beforehand. Payments are not accepted on the morning of the balloon tour.

If the balloon tour is canceled due to weather conditions, the full amount you have paid will be refunded to you without any deductions. However, once you have made the payment and your reservation is confirmed, if you decide not to participate in the tour, oversleep in the morning, or arrive late for the transfer vehicle that will pick you up from your hotel, no refund will be issued. In other words, in any situation where the guest does not participate due to their own reasons, no refund will be provided.

Balloon tours are typically conducted only in the early morning, during sunrise. This is because balloons lose their ability to fly in the heated air after sunrise. The better lifting force of the air during sunrise and the calm and serene conditions contribute to the flights being scheduled exclusively at sunrise. Very rarely, in the winter season, afternoon flights may also be arranged. However, 99% of the flights are conducted solely during sunrise.

Balloon tours vary in duration between 50 minutes to 1 hour and 10 minutes, depending on the wind conditions. The decision regarding the duration is made by our experienced pilots who conduct the flight. The total duration, including the pick-up from your hotel, transportation to the flight area, witnessing the inflation of the balloons, participating in the flight, and finally being dropped off back at your hotel, takes approximately 3-4 hours.

Balloon tour prices include round-trip free hotel transfers, breakfast before the flight, a souvenir certificate, flight insurance, and complimentary non-alcoholic champagne. Cappadocia balloon tours are only conducted once a day, early in the morning at sunrise. The baskets we use for balloon tours vary in size, accommodating between 20 to 28 people. Our balloon tour prices include round-trip hotel transfers, flight insurance fees, breakfast before the flight, a souvenir certificate after the flight, and a champagne or fruit juice offering. The pick-up times from the hotel vary between 03:00 and 05:00, depending on the location of the guests’ hotels and the season. Unfortunately, we cannot accept children under the age of 6.

Guests who will participate in the Cappadocia Balloon tour can only be transferred to the flight area using the transfer vehicles provided by our company. It is not possible to arrive at the flight area in your own vehicle. Guests who have made a balloon tour reservation are informed of the pick-up times from their hotels one day in advance. It is of great importance that guests are ready in the hotel lobby at the designated pick-up times. If you are late, oversleep, or decide not to participate in the morning, the tour fee will not be refunded.

Actually, balloons cannot be steered in a specific direction. Only our experienced pilots can control the balloons by ascending or descending, allowing them to navigate between different layers of the air. They can make limited adjustments based on the varying wind speeds and directions in different layers. Therefore, the ground crew tracks the balloon in the air and maintains constant communication with the pilot via radio to determine the landing spot and make necessary preparations. As a result, balloons generally cannot land at the exact same location where they took off.

We highly recommend that guests participating in the balloon tour bring a camera, a digital camera, or at least their mobile phones with them. This is because you will need these devices to capture the magnificent beauty of Cappadocia and capture stunning photos.
